I have recently had very swollen legs (not feet) and had a scan for DVT- this was negative- I need further investigation and an ECG- this problem only arose with knee problems and I was wondering if anyone else had been through this- I am quite concerned and worried - I have had heart problems in the past.

I have not had this problem but when you have had heart problems these things make most of us feel anxious which is a normal reaction

Obviously as you are waiting for an ECG your doctor is aware of everything and hopefully you will get one soon so you can have peace of mind

If it gets any worse let your Doctor know and ask if they can push a little to get this done sooner

We always think the worse scenario and yet so many times it does not end up been what we are thinking , I hope this will be the case for you that it has nothing to do with your heart

thank you so much for your reply it was very kind- i had the ECG yesterday and the report was sent over to my GP and they are going to ring me tomorrow morning- I will let you know and hope you are ok yourself kind regards

my ecg was the same as when i Had a stoke and heart attack 11 years ago - that is good news but i am having further investigation for my swollen legs which are often red and bluish shade- thanks for caring I will let you know how I get on look after yourself and let me know how you are feeling yourself x sand

That is good news about your ecg

I am sorry to hear you need tests to see what is the cause of your legs swelling but remember whatever it is how wonderful these experts are now and they will sort this out for you and will look out how you get on x

the doctor is now ordering a doppler test for me on my legs to try to find the cause as my legs are showing signs of veins and blue colour hopefully will get an appointment soon- thanks for caring take care and look after yourself hope you are ok x

thank you for all your kind words- the doctor has referred me to the vascular clinic at the local hospital- my legs are freezing cold and all the veins are appearing on them and higher up my thihgs- I hope I dont have to wait to long for an appointment as I am a bit of a worrier- hope you are keeping ok yourself- once again thank you

I think a lot of us the moment we feel something is wrong can become a worrier

I worry all the time it is just my nature so I know how you feel

I always think the waiting is the worse and we can think a thousand scenarios while we are waiting none of which usually ends up been what we are thinking

I found out I had a nodule on my lung after my Bypass operation some time after it was and goodness did I go of on one I was beside myself , diagnosed myself you name it I had in my head thought it and I waited to go and get it scanned again after putting myself through all the worry and it turned out to be nothing thank goodness

Easy for me to say but try not to worry tell yourself whatever the cause they will sort it out and they will

I to hope that appointment is quick and please come back again and let us know how it goes x
