Hi I had to call ambulance Monday morning as my heart didn't feel right paramedics said it was AF and went to hospital. Berm given betablocker and blood thinners while waiting for an appointment with heart specialist. I keep reading things and I am convinced this will kill me and can't help being scared just don't know what to think. Making myself worse. Is it a death sentence

AF diagnosed this week scared
Hi Cheryl please read my profile, I was diagnosed with severe Heart Failure in September. Today I had my Angioplasty appointment and its results are clear. So even though I am on several medication, beta blocks ect they have prescribed me even more medication. They have reassured me that I will improve once medication is optimal. And possibly full recovery although from reading here people you recover about 50%. But will live long happy life
You did the right thing to get checked outIf they were worried they would have admitted you, I assume yr back at home waiting for a cardiology outpatient appt ??
You've got the appropriate medications to take and believe me that stress and anxiety can cause you to feel bad so talk to friends family and we are always here to listen
Don't Google too much online come here and talk to BHF nurses on phone and other members in this group with similar issues and take advice obviously of yr own medical team
Don't be scared it will be fine
Hugs
Thank you I still feel so scared. Read loads and scared myself to death. My bp is lower than ever over 65 sometimes at min and that's worrying me as I keep thinking it will go to low x just can't relax. Thank you for replying
I am waiting for appointment. I also have vertigo which isn't helping at all
Very easy for me to say but try not to worry. It sounds like your on the right medication as prescribed and you did the right thing ringing for an ambulance and going to the hospital and they will have looked at what treatment you needed for your AF.You can always make an appointment with your GP to discuss your anxiety and hopefully get some reassurance, you've had a shock and you need reassuring from your GP.
Hope you get some relief.
You did the right thing! Thousands of people walking around today have similar things! Most of the people on here will have had something similar. You are in good company! Try not to worry-that's the worst thing!
