I'm a 77 year old male who had triple bypass surgery on 10/1/23. Surgery on 10/1/23 Sunday and send home Thursday.
After a week after I started having jaw pain again. This pain always happened before my stents or before this bypass. When the jaw discomfort happens I also am short of breath.
I went back to my surgery team after for a check and they sent me to urgent care. I stayed over night and they did a nuclear stress test which was good. My troponin was still high but (this is a couple weeks after surgery) but they did 3 tests at the hospital and it was coming down.
Its been 4 weeks now and they have me on isosorbite (spelling) mono. and i also take a nitro if the jaw pain occurs and it goes away. The isos. I take twice a day. Its not a high dose.
I have the VA and have tried to get into Mayo for a cardiologist and the VA states I have to have a NATIONAL ok. Totally frustrating.
I've seen another NP or MA who said it could be a coronary spasm. I'm seeing another person who isn't a cardiologist but a NP I think on 11/7.
My wife is worried about another heart attack. When they did my bypass the surgeon said my heart looked good which was good news.
Anyone experienced this?
Thank you; feedback is much appreciated.
