Out of hospital two weeks after triple bypass surgery. I've noticed two white stitches, top of thigh and ankle on left leg. Will these dissolve on their own or do they have to be removed?Nobody mentioned them at the hospital.

Hello
White stiches I am not sure if I saw any white ones but there could have been but the others as I healed just kind of came out on their own when they were ready and hopefully this will be the same
Have you got a number for a Rehab Nurse if so ask them or when you speak with your Doctor they will also be able to tell you
I hope your recovery is going well x
Your post has just reminded me - my husband had like a little white knot at both ends of scar. They must have just dissolved because he didn’t have stitches taken out.
Hello, white sutures (not clear prolene ones) are usually dissolvable. However, they can upto 3+ weeks to dissolve. If they are still visible in 3+ weeks or you find you are experiencing a reaction around the sutures then speak to your doctors, the practice nurse could remove them for you after 2 + weeks.
I had no external stitches chest or leg. Glued together but like you two small thread like stitches appeared at the bottom of my leg scar. Nurse at GP health centre removed with a pair of tweezers. She said this was common and it was just two that had failed to dissolve.
Painless and took seconds.
