Recent blood tests revealed I had Cronic Kidney Disease stage 3. No pre warning of this suddenly appearing on my NHS records. My GP finally explained not really to ease my anxiety and concerns. After further tests it turns out my bladder is not emptying properly after a wee. I am now having to use at the moment 4 times daily a intermittent self-catheterisation SpeediCath contraption to empty my bladder. After only 1 week whilst not painful when inserting the tube I have developed I think cystitis even after following to the letter the cleansing instructions beforehand. I’m awaiting to find out from the consultant what options I will have in time.
Has any other readers got a similar complaint and how are they coping?

Good morning Vanclomp. Hope your going to get your bladder problems sorted out soon. All I do now is that any water infection makes your kidney function worse and it doesn't always return to its previous Egfr levels after the U.t.i has been treated. I should contact your doctor immediately and get treatment for the Cystitis. Let us know how you get on. Brian
Good morning to you as well, I’m happy to report that the Cystitis has eased with normal paracetamol and plenty of water. As regard to my other problem it’s difficult trying to find decent toilet facilities when away from home to perform the procedure and I am hoping that the consultant will offer me some keyhole surgery procedures in the near future. Thanks again for your reply. Best wishes.
Hope your infection has completely gone. Wouldn't hurt getting a water sample checked to make sure. Hope you get the bladder problem sorted soon. Brian
