Hello :-)

What makes you feel that it is this med causing this ?

It could be something else but either way if it is a problem you need to go and see your Doctor

I am not sure what you mean about all the normal bleeding but again that is something you could check out when you see your Doctor

You could claim benefits but you would have to prove that you were unfit for work and by that it would be a case you cannot make meals need assistance to do everyday things etc

You could go to your Local Citizens Advice who are very good at been able to advise you if you are entitled to claim anything take any Doctors , Consultants letters with you if you do so they can get a clear picture of your condition it will help them if you do :-) x

Hello :-)

I am not sure the meds should be so extreme they make you have blood in your urine but again I would write all these things down and see your Doctor and get everything clarified so at least you know :-) x

They are NOT thinners. Terrible misnomer. Anti coagulants simply slow down the bloods ability to clot. Aspirin thins the blood nature. You have been misinformed about this oral bleeding. It is an occasional response to trauma, such as biting the tongue, overkeen brusing of teeth and so on. Not every person on anticoagulants get it,certainly not as a matter of course in any case.

Rectal bleeding needs investigation .

No don't suck it up,get it looked into.

It might not be the meds, there is something called Proctalgia fugax with symptoms of sudden pain in the in the bum. Worth checking with a Dr. I get it from time to time.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have always wondered what this pain is and having looked up the symptoms, this is most definitely what I have. No one ever understood when I described the sudden spasms.

It's horrible when an attack happens. My GP diagnosed it straight away. As lowerfield says there's not a lot that can be done about it unfortunately.

I've had shooting pains in the bottom for years which happens once or twice every few months which really takes my breath away and always wondered what it was. This has been years before I had heart issues. So unsure what the cause is. No bleeding though.

Your symptoms match mine, and I was told by a GP many years ago the condition is called proctalgia fugax. My guess is its a sort of cramp in the rectal muscles. My sessions can be extremely painful and last for up to 30 minutes before it subsides and unfortunately there is little you can do it seems, other than tough it out and take paracetamol immediately you feel it starts.

Bizarrely, the only thing I've found to help is to sit on the loo for a few minutes. No need to do anything but sit. Almost always seems to happen at night and often wakes me up. Thankfully only happens a few times per year.

Think I'll try that tip of sitting on the loo, thank you. Whenever I've explained the symptoms to anyone, they look at me strangely. It's horrid and you never know when it's about to start.

This is literally the first time I've ever heard of this and spoken to someone who has this too. When I explained this to my GP, they said it was probably IBS which I knew wasn't right. Yes, my episodes either last a few secs or a few mins, then I don't have other again for several months, so have just got on with it. I had it more frequent when I was pregnant.

Due to a move I changed GP from the GP who had diagnosed Proctalgia Fugax and when I mentioned to the second GP what I had been diagnosed to have, the GP had never heard of it!

Been on Apixaban for 3 years. Never had issues with bleeding other than cuts. This definitely needs investigation

if you’ve got bleeding that has appears since taking Apixaban you should see your GP.

Apixaban causes my gums to bleed😤 Hair to come out on occasions 😤 I was put in Dronedarone which can increase Apixabans effects!! So needed to half the tablets AND I’m a bleeder, so Apixaban goes down like a lead balloon
