Hi, can anybody tell me if they regularly take different types of vitamins I take all the regular suspects open heart medications and I’m just worried because the doctor did mention to me awhile back that sometimes the Caking agent can cause problems. I do try to get my vitamins via food but feel I want a larger dose especially over the next few months.does anybody take vitamins with no problem?

Hello
I just take vitamin D but that has been strongly advised by my Doctor some years ago as my levels are low all the time and was told to continue even with my heart meds
I do not have any problems but I just take this one
I would ask your Doctor again or pharmacist if it would be ok just to make sure x
Same as Bekind I take Vit D supplement as recommended by my GP following a blood test that showed I was deficient in that Vitamin. I'd agree with Bekind, have a word with your GP or Pharmacist and perhaps have a blood test to see whqt vitamins need a boost.
Just here to second advice already given - speak with doctor or pharmacist to see what's needed and available for your situation.
Some vitamins interact with medication, and taking too much of some vitamins can cause other problems... too much vitamin C can cause calcification in the kidney for example (I knew a young man hospitalised with this - he took tablets and berocca daily)
I take vitamin B to reduce my high homocysteine level which is hereditary - this was suggested by the clinical pathologist at the local hospital. I have also taken vitamin D since the appearance of the virus that shall not be named to keep my immune system topped up. Neither seem to affect my prescribed medication. My GP is aware of what I take.
Potassium can interact with both ACE/ARB meds and beta blockers. I think research has suggested that potassium supplements in particular (as opposed to dietary potassium) have more interactive effect.
Prior to AVR 2 years ago I took vitamin D and echinacea daily and occasional vitamin C . I was told in hospital post surgery to stop taking all vitamins but I felt the loss of them last winter. I’m going to look in to restarting them this autumn as I genuinely felt my immune system was much better when I took them regularly.
I had HA/ stent last oct , I take vitamin d3 , vitamin k2, coq10 , odorless garlic , a vit c with zinc and green tea as I cant stand the stuff Haha, rattle around like a pill bottle and obviously dont take all these with my heart meds ,but I feel great atm .
I take vitamins and supplements— no problems that I know of. When I was in hospital I had a medication review. The pharmacist told me to stop taking Vitamin D as I get it elsewhere but was ok with the rest.
I take magnesium glycinate, omega 3, vit C,D, K2, B12 shot every 12 weeks, co enzyme Q10, selenium and zinc. I also make sure I get sufficient potassium from foods, as it was low potassium which caused my hospitalisation from AF-a shot into my tummy and I reverted on my own, not had a recurrence! As an aside, I haven't succumbed to the dreaded clergy either!
I take vit c, omega 3, coq10, vit d3c vit k2 - which is ok with my cardiologist.
I take vit D as my normal levels are low. My GP told me to take them along with all my heart meds.
