Hi allI was diagnosed with heart failure following a virus in Dec 2020, the drs believe it was COVID but they couldn't get a positive test. However, all the symptoms were the same so that was their opinion at the time. I was really unwell for months, had no energy to do anything and breathless just walking a few steps. I was sent for an echo cardiogram which showed damage to my heart. I have heart failure (LVSD). I was put on medication (Entresto) and been on them since.
I have struggled with the diagnosed, not being able to do what I used to do, I cant exercise like I did nor much or I get exhausted. I have been trying to walk more just to get moving, being tired from so little just isnt me.
I have noticed something and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, if my heart rate goes above 120bpm my resting heart rate is elevated for the rest of the day/night. I have the feeling of palpitations and fluttering. It settles down in a day or so, but it has me concerned. Is this normal, should I be speaking to the GP? I haven't heard from my consultant since the initial diagnosis in 2021.
If anyone has had the same, it would be good to know if this is normal with this condition.
Thank you
