Wow, that’s great news! No damage to your heart muscle is fantastic. I hope you can go back to resuming your normal activities comfortably within due time.

Good luck on journey going forward.

I still experience these thoughts 1.5 years later, so I can assure you it is normal to feel this way. Cardiac rehab can help with the mental aspect of things as well. I wasn’t offered this, but if you have been, I would recommend it as I have only heard great things about it.

Yes im doing it ,as it was great to finally talk to someone ,as GPs dont want to know ,so 12 weeks of rehab , plus can chat to other people in same boat .

Hello :-)

So many positive posts today which is great to read :-)

That is brilliant that your heart attack has not caused any muscle damage you must have been pleased with that news :-)

The mental part and what you are feeling is so common and this can take longer to improve sometimes than the physical side of things

If you are finding you are struggling to much talk with your Doctor or Rehab Nurses and I think when you start Rehab that will give you the confidence you need to help with these thoughts

I am sure that Rehab will make even more difference to your recovery which so far you are doing really well :-) x

Hi and thanks ,yes was pleased when she said that ,i just think the mental part will need a lot of work on ,somedays its great no feelings what so ever ,then somedays the slightest twitch ,i was taking it slow on the rehab ,but the nurse has pushed me ,walk 3 times a day potter round the house etc and i do feel better for it

Hello :-)

I know exactly how you feel I have had a triple Bypass a few days now of 2 years ago and I am still the same every sensation I zoom in I have tried so hard to work on it but it is not easy

I could not attend Rehab but I know from others meeting people that have been in your position and going through the same really helps

It has been a big event but they caught you and it has done no damage when the negative thoughts come in try and keep hold of the positive ones :-) x

I had heart attack last October and had 4 stents fitted at the time but after the dye had been injected and before the stents where fitted I was given the option of a quadruple bypass, or they could attempt to stent me I opted for the stenting. I had an echo done the next morning and like you no damage what so ever. I was discharged from where we were holiday in the uk. Saw the rehab nurse she said the amount of blockages I had and where they where if my heart had stopped I would have died. Round here there is a waiting list before you can do the cardiac rehab program like 3 to 4 month wait. Round here they only offer exercise classes nothing more nothing less. My cholesterol is high and where I was holidaying they got you to see a dietician several times round here you get a photocopy of booklet on healthy eating so I’ve paid to see a dietician privately she is really nice and very helpful explains everything to you she’s given me a load of homework to take back for the next appointment middle of September. Makes you think are you eating because your hungry or is it emotional eating? Anyway getting back to Cardac rehab all they offer in this area is exercise classes no educational classes. You had to wear a name badge and it went from 1* to 4*s one was the easiest and four was trading for the army boot camp that was what I was 4*s I’m not really that fit but doing cardio was easier than lifting low weights because at the time I couldn’t lift my arm like I should be able to. I managed the level four but it was tough to say the least. 10 months on still on a bucket full of pills can’t wait for the day to come off the anti platelets because of having stents fitted you have to take drugs to stop you getting blood clots around the stents which could cause a further heart attack. Good look with your rehab and hope you make a full and complete recovery.

I only had the one stent fitted , yes will be exercise classes which im more than happy with ,as for the talk with her ,its more than my GP has done ,though she did say he will do you blood pressure each year as they get paid for it ,so i might change surgerys before then ,my cholesterol is high and BP is to or was ,but that was down to my lifestyle and diet, smoking not touched one since a hour before HA, use to just eat crap wedges and burgers ,oven chips and chicken burgers ,cakes biccies , crisp ,takeaways usual crap single man diet, but since i been home threw everything out freezer and cupboards ,and gone full healthy ,yes im on pills to 7 in morning 3 at night ,but they helping and doing the job till im healthy enough myself thats the way i see it ,plus some are for life .

Excellent news especially the "no muscle damage". Onwards and upwards. The rehab will do wonders for you.

The one thing I really really regret. Ours wouldn't let me do it as I'm in a wheelchair

Wow. 1.5 mile seems a lot only weeks after a HA. I mean everyone is different.
