Yes I did change my diet and which meant it brought my cholesterol under control, which before must have been sky high. I think around 1999 I had a test carried out to assess my drug treatment at that point my ischaemia had regressed.I got statins when first out. Also interestingly blocked arteries don’t fully block I was told. I have eased on my diet now but still keep an eye on what I eat. You can see I have hypercholestrolanemia not sure of spelling but it is a cruel hereditary disease.

Lost my wonderful dad at 61 my fantastic brother at 43 and recently a niece at 53.Yes it’s hit our family hard. I have to say I’ve been extremely lucky triples don’t usually last like mine.I do try to keep fit because sports and cycling are happy pastimes.Plus as said before never thought I’d reach this age and even without the need for the op never thought it possible to do at 77 what I can do.

MY BIG ADVICE IS MAKE SURE AT AN EARLY AGE YOU HAVE GOOD INSURANCE IN PLACE TO COVER WHAT FAMILY YOU HAVE.DO IT WHILE YOUNG ITS CHEAPER.

Wow, that's amazing, CONGRATULATIONS! You must feel incredible that it's lasted so long and you must have worked so hard. Well done you! 👏 Not to wain from your brilliant success I wonder if there's a Guinness World Record for the shortest time a triple has lasted? I think mine failed before I even came round from the surgery? I think the clotting drugs they gave me to stop internal bleeding clotted my grafts🙄😪😪😪 .

Nevertheless I'm incredibly pleased for you, well done again and I hope your new certificate comes through soon!

That is fantastic. I don't mean to appear rude but have you managed to keep your BMI, weight and waist measurements at or below the recommended levels?

I do struggle with all 3 but do OK on exercise- walking 10000 steps a day

A brilliant achievement Colin. I'm not one for awards, certificates or gongs, but some things are worth recording and celebrating and this is one. Well done! 😀
