Hey guys, I had device closure by catheter last week. Recovery has been going well, however I've woke up with the summer cold/flu. As a result I am getting multiple heart palpitations, is this normal? Or not so with having the closure? Any advice welcome.

I'm guessing it could be due to either! The heart doesn't like being touched and gets a bit cross when we mess with it. I'm now in atrial flutter after OHS to repair my ASD which only presented 4 weeks after the surgery. Here's hoping yours calms down on its own while your heart continues to adjust to the closure. Many do apparently settled on their own but I think it's worth flagging with your consultant or nurses - they might want to pop you on a 48 hour holter to see what's going on. Keep us posted!
