Hey Everyone

So I was taken up to A&E last night, after a long wait, I've been discharged but they want me to go back today for further investigation.

The don't seem to think it is cardiac related.

That’s great news V I hope they find out what it is. I’ve had that same neck and shoulder pain radiating to my elbow. It’s been unbearable for 2 weeks now. Yesterday my Gp sent me to a&e where they did ecg, chest X-ray and bloods. They all came back normal for me. She said my troponin levels were very good so no heart attack.

Diagnoses muscle pain, after spending what seem like the whole day there. She also referred me to the chest clinic for pain management and told me to self refer for physio because doctors can’t refer you anymore, which I didn’t know.

I hope they can tell you what’s causing it. All the best.

I hope not!!I don’t want anymore things added to what I’ve already got. That’s usually pain on touch isn’t it? Mine feel like I’ve slept wrong and I keep sleeping on it accidentally. When I think it’s getting better it comes back with a vengeance.

Hey V hope all the tests went well any updates?? Hope your not waiting long X

Sorry to hear of you issue. I have to admit this heart journey we are all on., is one situation I never dreamed of. However regarding blood pressure it still baffles me. Carnt get a definitive answer what is good bad or indifferent. Went to the doctors yesterday as I wanted to know if I was OK to exercise as my gym has shut and wondered if the nhs do anything or could recommend a gym. Unfortunately the answer was no. However I ended up seeing a new doctor and he wanted to check me over. So I thought OK let's go for it. My blood pressure was 142/76. Considering I had walked to the doctors and went up the stairs. He seemed happy with that. My oxygen level on his finger unit was 89% I was impressed with that. He was a little concerned until he read my notes and when I go to hospital it seems to be 76%. After that he was happy. No heart failure symptoms and my lungs are clear and my heart is 1+2+0 which is normal sounds? However what iam trying to say is what is classed as normal blood pressure? I know that if my blood pressure is low you can get dizzy and other symptoms. However low for me will be a different low for someone else. But I do know that when my issue all kicked of my blood pressure was high. 186/100 in hospital. However a new word I have learnt is haemodynamically stable. And there are formula's that can work out various other blood pressure readings using just the diastolic and systolic readings. These are called pulse pressure and MAP ( mean arterial pressure). I have just been interested in trying to work out what my most efficient blood pressure should be. My blood pressure medication is working and I take my lisinopril before bed time. I got permission to do this by the doctor as I wanted to reduce the side effects. 20 years ago my blood pressure was 110/80 with no medication so as I have aged it has slowly gone up. Any way barbie must have been better than iniana Jones.

Humidity is exceptionally high at present due to the rain. This has a big effect on how hard the heart has to work. Add in high pollen levels all summer and that MIGHT explain the BP readings. If you have put on weight due to lack of exercise then we have a unholy trinity of possible reasons for high blood pressure. High humidity also reduces the amount of oxygen the heart is able to take in and process so might also explain that 89% reading.

Thanks for the reply but unfortunately my ebsteins anomoly is the main reason for low oxygen. Its the nature of the beast . Yes I agree that blood pressure can go up and down through out the day. But I don't think I can function if too low. When I had a 24hr blood pressure check and I was on 20mg of lisinopril it came back as a day time average of 131/87. Last time I went to see specialist the blood pressure was 143/85. But it can go down to 104/62 as checked by nurse back in April. Yes I do need to loose another 4 kgs. But unfortunately it's the nature of the congenital heart disease I have and I can only try to help what I have. But I was a little worked up seeing a different doctor. But heat and humidity does not help.

I was having similar problems to some on this thread ,chest/shoulder pain,SOB . After a few visits to AE with nothing diagnosed, I eventually ended up back with cardiologist who sent me for tests including angiogram. The angiogram confirmed I have a myocardial bridge in my LAD artery , the cardiologists have said it's not a cause for concern as MB is benign and my problems are muscular.

I think differently and the MB is causing my problems , cardiologists in UK are taught MBs are not problematic but they are.

There is a Facebook site about MBs and a web site too.

If you are having problems get checked for MB.
