went to see my lovely supportive GP yesterday. She showed me a letter from Cardiology that I have not received.
It was confirming that my chest pain was not cardiac related “The MRI scan was reassuring.there was no residual ischaemia suggesting there is no Microvascular problem.
earlier it said the scan was requested to check for any residual ischemia due to Microvascular disease.
Now, I was told by dr that I had NO Microvascular disease and no cardiac pain.
This is confusing to me.
My GP said she hasn’t heard back re a second opinion and that the situation is frustrating.
She feels my nicorandil will need to be upped and my bisoprolol dropped a little but she will have to take advice as I’m on so many medications.
The letter was dictated 1 Feb but dated 25 Feb.
I’ve sent an email via my MP asking can I also have copies of my medical information as is normal practice.
And…I requested my Health Records on 26 Jan I had confirmation it would take up to 30 days but haven’t received them so I’ve sent them a reminder.
It’s exhausting this having to continually request for info and it’s not fair as it causes extra stress by the very people who are supposed to be there to help!!

Was just saying though it might be some ones surname and I have seen plenty of swearing on here a lot worse than if this was meant to say something else that no one has seemed to be bothered about and it gets left
If it was what it was just my opinion but the poster I think was very discreet like when we want to say c***d we have said it but discreetly x
You know I never even took any notice of it when I read your post I have seen worse swearing on here that has made me think do you have to say that but I have just let it go because in the grand scheme of things is it actually worth it ?
Anyway sit on the naughty step and then you can come back on x
The point I was making is a bit like your name, be kind, swearing in the general context can be acceptable, but referring to an individual well I think that is a different even if they are anon. I just feel if we let things slip we go to the bad old days again. In my opinion anyway.
Anyway the 'wrong' has been righted so all good. By the way i hope you are doing well presently, (soon be spring and warm enough to get in the garden).🥀
To be honest I was just interested in the post and what the poster was going through now it did not even draw my attention as I have seen so many posts comments using far worse swear words on here that no one seems to mind as nothing has been said yet made me cringe at times but anyway I have a lot more problems to deal with than someone abbreviating a swear word maybe why it did not to me seem important enough to say anything
I think as well if we see something we think is not acceptable rather than tell that person in public which can start a debate that gets out of hand sending us all back to the bad old days then just message them or report it but that is just my opinion
Maybe if you want to talk about this more you can always message me because someone will soon complain this is not heart related
Yes roll on Spring cannot come quick enough just hope we do not end up with heat waves again though x
There is some positive news in your post and test results that have come back to
I am so sorry though that you are having to chase things up like you are but good for you that you are doing this as I know how much it takes out of us but you are staying strong till you get what you need x
Anybody considered coronary vasospasms maybe a possible cause of your symptoms?
A cardiac MRI cannot diagnose this type of rare angina.
"Vasospastic angina (VSA) refers to chest pain experienced as a consequence of myocardial ischaemia caused by epicardial coronary spasm, a sudden narrowing of the vessels responsible for an inadequate supply of blood and oxygen."
Beta blockers can make coronary vasospasms worse. It will be interesting to see if your GP's suggestion of reducing even stopping your beta blocker reduces your symptoms.
It’s been suggested that one of my Angiograms failure could be due to Vasospasm as they tried 4 diff times to get the wire through but it stuck each time.it was the bhf who suggested it to me and I have asked in part of my complaint if this was the case.I’m still confused as the doctor told me was adamant I didn’t have MVA or MVD but my small arteries are severely diseased, some completely blocked and now it seems they are agreeing with the original diagnosis from the MRI thanks for the link il read it xx
Maybe the issue is that there is very little understanding about microvascular dysfunction, microvascular disease and coronary vasospasms. The Cardiologist's responses may well reflect their lack of knowledge.
Since the term angina/ ischaemia non obstructive coronary arteries has been adopted some Cardiologists are not making the distinction between microvascular dysfunction and coronary vasospasms.
Microvascular angina can be due to the inability of the small blood vessels in the heart to function properly.
Microvascular dysfunction.
Some people have microvascular vasospasms so some will be given a diagnosis of microvascular angina too!
I have vasospastic angina as I have transient constrictions of my coronary arteries and small vessels.
The only definitive way of diagnosing microvascular dysfunction and vasospastic angina is by a functional angiogram.
So without this test it's not really possible to say what's causing your symptoms.
I am in hospital at the moment. All the medical staff are reading the article I sent you to help them understand vasospastic angina.
I sent it to my Cardiologist and he immediately uploaded it onto my careplan as he was so impressed by the paper.
I agree it's all very frustrating when you make a complaint. There are two types of time. The normal one we're all bound by then NHS time which seems to a nebulous ever stretching of time.
Aww I’m sorry you are in hospital, I hope you are getting the right treatment although I know you are very knowledgeable about your condition and will be probs teaching them about it!I had the provocative Angio and afterward he said he thought it was Microvascular but that I needed the cmr scan.yet on the letter it says the test was negative in the diagonal and LAD.I just don’t understand how my arteries are severely diseased but they are not the cause of my pain.I’m wondering if I should forward that link to be put on my file or wether this will just anger them! .please keep us updated on your condition xx
about getting your medical history. On my NHS app I have access to everything so no need to wait. Saying that, not all hospital letters are there, though there is a system in my local hospital trust that these will be present.
This is very distressing for you on the plus side at least you have the support of your GP.Stay strong, chasing up records and so on is very stressful and time consuming, hope you get a satisfactory outcome soon.
