Teeth Problems (who would have thought!)

Hi, I had a heart attack a year ago and had a stent fitted and then another fitted 6 months later and am really getting on well. However I have noticed that since starting taking the drugs my teeth have stained a good few shades darker and have broken 2 teeth in half just eating food. Has anyone else had a similar problem and are there any suggestions to help the situation. I am happy to take supplements, drugs (I take enough so what difference would a few more make) or change my diet to improve the situation.

All remedies will be considered.

Cheers M

Hi there. I believe some antibiotics and some high blood pressure medications can cause teeth discolouration. Also, I had a bad fall and fractured my upper jaw which caused a tooth to move. It was splinted and I was given a strong mouth wash, which my dentist advised to discontinue after two weeks because it caused staining. By then, though, my teeth had turned a yukky shade of yellow. I have since had bleaching which has lightened them somewhat, and I intend to do this again in a couple of months' time. I hope your doctor and dentist can give you some advice. Best wishes.
