Hello, I suggest you talk to your GP or Pharmacist rather than rely on the advice of an internet doctor and discuss with them the side effects you're experiencing.
It's not particularly safe to try and cut in half an unscored tablet.
Some tablets mustn't be cut in half, crushed or chewed especially if they are modified release tablets.
What side effects? If it is causing oedema then splitting the dose will not help.
As Milkfairy has said do not put your faith in Dr Google. Some with Web pages and YouTube channels are actually barred from practicing by the BMA or their home country's equivalent! Patient beware!
get a pill cutter. They only cost pennies
A change/increase of medication needs to be discussed with your GP.
I take 10 mg of Amlodipine daily. When my dose was raised to 10 mg from 5 mg daily, I got a bit of edema. It was really weird looking at chonky feet. After a few months, I must have adapted to the increase because the edema decreased considerably.
