following blood pressure check on Wednesday it’s up as usual due to stress. The nurse then got doctor in and they increased my amlodapine to 10mg against my wishes. Next day have bad reaction. I have some fives left so going to take them till I get another appointment. I know that a lot of people take more than one lot to keep it under. The doctor was concerned about interactions with adding another. Can I ask are there members who take amlodapine and another one that you can take along with it. Or it’s taking me of amlodapine all together

I take a very small dose of Amlopodine and Furosimide.Amlopodine 2.5mg and 20mg Furosomide once in the morning together. When I took 5mg Amlodopine my ankles swelled badly so pharmacist reduced it for 2 days to see if it helped and it did.I then told GP.10 mg of amlodopine sounds a lot to me but I am not a medic.

Good morning Tinkler2015. I too had a bad reaction to Amlodipine and still have the scars from the leg ulcers and the redness. There are plenty of blood pressure tablets available. So they could try other. I am on Doxazosin 4mg. 1 tablet morning and teatime. Hope you get things sorted out. Brian

It's good to see that you are being pro-active with regards to your medication in questioning a change made against your wishes. I hope your GP can sort it out. Amlodipine is on my "black list" of medication due to severe oedema.

I had issues with the dose of Bisoprolol that I take. I had an argument with my GP over the phone about it. He was not atcall pleased when I told him I would cut the pill in half if he didn't reduce it. In the end, after a consultation with the phsrmacist at the GP practice, it was lowered even further. It certainly pays to keep tabs on what they are prescribing.

I take Amlodipine 5mg and Losartan 25mg. They tried increasing my Amlodipine to 10mg which made my ankles swell. Adding the Losartan has worked really well for me. Hope you get things sorted soon.

I take amlopodine 5mg with 1.25mg of bisoporol in the evening, but finding I feel awful, lightheaded, tired and my blood pressure on average is 115/66 I think this is too low for me. Do you know if amlopodine comes in 2.5mg

I couldn’t take amlodopine at all, it made my feet swell so much, couldn’t get my shoes on.
