Hi Elephantfan

I’m very sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

I don’t have any experience with this I’m afraid, but I did want to provide you with the BHF helpline number where cardiac nurses are available 9-5pm Monday to Friday. They should be able to answer any questions you have.

0808 802 1234

I hope other forum members can share their experiences.

All the best.

Tos

Hi Elephantfan - just wanted to send you a very warm welcome to the forum. Unfortunately I have no experience of this issue but there are a number of very knowledgeable members of the forum who, I'm sure, will be along soon to help with your post. Also the BHF helpline has proved to be very helpful for queries - I notice Tos92 has provided the number in their post. Carol

Hello there welcome to the forum. I was diagnosed with severe Left Ventricular Systolic Disfunction three years ago with an EF of 25, I was devastated to say the least especially after reading Dr Google, please don't go there.

I take Nebivolol, Perindopril, Spironolactone and Dapagliflozin, after three years my condition has gone from severe to moderate and my EF to 38.

I walk on my treadmill 3days a week and attend an over 50s fitness class (I'm 74).

I still get symptoms and still worry about my future but try to live for today. I hope this helps and wish you all the best for your future 😊

I’ve been diagnosed with left ventricular heart failure after my heart attack nearly 2yrs ago. Because of the heart muscle damage on the left side I’ve got bits of a few arrhythmia’s. I was very fit before my heart attack ( caused by blood clot , cholesterol normal),

I’ve had to accept the changes it’s caused but I’m still fit, swim, walk, Pilates, badminton and a few gym sessions every week. I’ve changed how I exercise and will never be able to do what I used to but I have a good life.

I’ve given up work and struggle walking uphill. I’m determined to walk up moel Ffammau this year at some point though.

There will be changes and challenges along with plenty of medications. You can live and enjoy life give yourself time and be patient with yourself. Good luck.

Yes I have a server left ventricle condition last year I had a reading of 34% blood flow. This year it is down to 25%. I had a ICD (defibrator implant in June 2022). Health wise it as been up and down. getting very tired and lethetic. Now having to do more test NM Rubuim 13 test and 3 day Tape monitor as to why me heart as deteriorated. it is the tiredness and out of breath that is frustrating me.
