ectopic beat?
Hi Manhattan1
Not finding the root cause of these annoying ectopics can be frustrating however, they are considered benign for the most part.
As yours is accompanied by symptoms, and I note that your blood pressure rises, are you on BP medication to reduce this?
Have your symptoms been investigated further by using a holter monitor for example?
Have you had an echocardiogram recently?
All the best.
Tos
unfortunately not
Ectopics, as I experienced, were in the pulse rate range of 37 to mid 80's and were very uneventful, and not very noticeable with just a very very slight sensation of anxiety attached. For me they were very a common occurrence but then stopped in 2019 suddenly and possibly coincidentally at onset of pandemic and to my knowledge not to return. I concluded that stopping going to what were possibly slightly too extreme exercise classes was the trigger. In response I toned down my exercise expectations. 🙂
thanks for that😊.. as i said i’ve had ectopics on a few occasions.. but the one yesterday felt different..i was completely relaxed and sitting down ..pretty painful and the sudden rise in HR and BP was a bit concerning.. hopefully any subsequent ectopics will be milder lol
I don't think ectopics are usually painful. Mine feel like an odd whoopsie feeling but definitely no pain. If you get it again with pain I would think it's a good idea to investigate further.
Ectopic beats are common and usually harmless, but they can sometimes be uncomfortable or even painful. They can also cause your heart rate and blood pressure to rise.
When experiencing ectopic beats, it is important to stay calm and avoid getting too stressed out. Ectopic beats are usually harmless, but they can be more noticeable if you are feeling anxious or stressed. If you are concerned about your ectopic beats, it is always best to see a doctor to rule out any underlying heart problems.
Stress can trigger ectopic beats, so it is important to find healthy ways to manage stress, such as exercise, yog, or meditation.
Caffeine and alcohol can both trigger ectopic beats, so it is best to avoid them if you are prone to these heart irregularities.
Wish you good times
