Sorry for lack of update. I was really tired yesterday. Saw the on duty cardiologist yesterday morning. I now know in more detail why they wont attempt to stent me. Problem is in a small branch artery close to a major one. Attempting to stent that narrower one carries a greater risk of rupture plus would require additionl stents in the main one. Basically several in a "y" formation in a tiny area. Was told I remain low risk, 🤞, of a "major" event but any future instances of pain, especially where GTN doesn't help, needs investigation.
Obviously, as always, it can be trial and error with medication but have been referred for clinic with with my cardiologist. Hopefully get more answers then, we'll be chasing that appt!
It's frustrating more than anything as I was fine until 3 weeks ago. I remain convinced that my "dehydration" episode at rehab has triggered all this 🥴. Glad I persisted though. I had two doses of nicorandil whilst in hospital and was monitered throughout.
Felt really young in hospital, the 2 other guys in our bay were in their 90s!
Been told to resume rehab.

Have had 10mg of nicorandil twice a day added to the mix. Got to keep plugging away at my weight, diet and exercise as well as staying hydrated. I have to remain optimistic that this is a blip and will eventually be brought under control. Slept well last night and will take it easy for a bit.
I really feel for you as being told you’re not suitable for stenting must carry some worry.
Overall though it sounds positive and I hope your clinic appointment with your cardiologist furnishes you with a clearer plan and more detailed information and advice.
I’m sure you’re being sensible but continue to take your medication, stay hydrated and take it easy for now. I know setbacks are frustrating but at least it’s a setback and nothing more serious.
Thanks, I'm trying not to worry as I've had so many checks and tests. It's more frustration at a recent blip, especially as my heart chum, who I met on hospital, had a much worse heart attack has, outwardly, recovered better 😀. Have to remain positive.
No need for apologies just glad to see your post and that you have got some answers while you were in there and even better that you felt young compared to others that has to be a bonus
I know it is not easy but try and focus on now and not 2 weeks ago or you will be frustrated but things will come good again
At least you have some kind of explanation even if it wasn't the news you wanted to hear about the stenting. I think it is a matter of finding the right combination of medication that works best for you. Best wishes to you.
It’s good that you have had an explanation so you know what to do if you get the symptoms again , not good that there us a problem obviously but at least you know what’s causing your symptoms . It’s nice to feel young even if it’s not in the best place , I too was the youngest on CCU , I’ve lost count of how many times I e been told that I’m very young to have a pacemaker , take care and hope you don’t need any more ambulance rides soon🤞🏻
Hope you get app soon to discuss but at least they are happy for you to restart rehab which is good news as they would say no if they had any doubts
Mine has been put back twice twice due to unstable blood pressure and faints. On new meds which seem to be working so am hopeful I might be able to do assessment this week
Aw was wondering how you was mate. Thanks for updating us! Sorry to hear about the block is there not another option or Stenting just too risky?. I hope your feeling better on your new medication mate. Hope your resting well in this heat! 🥵. I know what you mean I felt like that when I was in hospital I was the only young person on the ward I was 22 on a ward with people in there 60z and 70z some older I think 😅.
It very much sounds like a glitch in your recovery, but at least you are back on track with rehab and you have found out a bit more about your situation. I'm surprised they didn't explain everything earlier. I've alaays had everything clearly explained at each stage, from what they did when I had my HA to what still needed to be done, the severity and the options for treatment I even had every one of my medications explained. Perhaps I have just been fortunate.
