Update -Having a laugh- Left Ventricular Hypertrophy

Hi guys, so 3 days ago I’ve received the results from Heartscan , a private echocardiogram that is in Newcastle.

The results was funny, confusing and annoying, because I’ve been going trough so much stress when I was searching what I have and also for when I found what I have. The results was that everything is OK, no left ventricular hypertrophy and no diastolic dysfunction. I do believe more the second echocardiogram, not because it show good results, but because the first cardiologist, like I’ve said, was quick, fast to give a diagnosis and only 10 minutes to do the echo, but the HeartScan cardiologist took 30 minutes, ask a lot of questions, in other words was more careful.

Know I’m under the question mark, and wonder if I need to do a 3rd one but somewhere else just to be out of the woods.

Did anyone knows something about HeartScan in Newcastle,I’ve read good things about them and saw the cardiologist has good experience for over 25 years of heart echo.

Thank your guys.

hello

What did the heart scan cardiologist say about your symptoms despite the clear echo?

I was just reading back one of your previous posts and you said you had breathlessness I think?

If they found nothing wrong on the echo what did they think caused your symptoms?

👍

Hi fishface, I talk about it and told them my symptoms and she said to do an abdominal echocardiogram and speak with my GP for further investigation.

From her side,I told her I’ve had an echo back home, she said that she did not saw any LVH and diastolic dysfunction and that my heart was in good condition, ‘except for a ‘trivial valve leakage, which is common and of no concern’.

She also told me to see my GP regarding my high blood pressure and with previous clinic details from abroad for further management.

Know should I go to the GP and tell her that there are two different results,if I do so, she will definitely take into consideration the ine that says I don’t have nothing and case close.

She will not pursue this matter anymore. I must say ,that from the moment I’ve heard the news,I’ve started running more(3k) nothing apecial, feeling more relax and my shortest of breath went away, but still come from time to time.

I’ve also looked back from 2 years ago, what my watch showed me, and my heart rhythm was the same ,dropping to 48,49 during the day ,in other words nothing new from what I’ve seen.

Know I feel more relax, but still need to find out why this tiredness in my chest, the stabbing pain in left side chest. I booked an abdominal ultrasound to see if something is wrong there(liver, gallbladder, kidneys etc) and continue from there.

In this moment,I happy with the results from HeartScan, but because my symptoms are still there don’t want to be to happy.

it’s good to hear you feel in a better place and hope future tests get to the bottom of any remaining symptoms. You sound more positive and that is a big help with any physical health issues.

👍

I assumed that echo results were accurate but have just had my results from October 2022 (finally managed to get them sent to GP via a PALS complaint about cardiology delay) So, my Ejection Fraction was lower than on hospital discharge May 2022 despite following all of the life style recommendation. Panic.... what if the downward trend had continued over the past 7 months! Then GP explained that in reality there may have been no change depends on who did the scan in fact with the margins of possible error for the two echocardiograms it could have even increased slightly. So, same as you, wondering if I should now have a private one done.

Oh, and same as you, apparently tests show no issues so no more investigations regarding tiredness, lack of energy, sleeping after exercise etc. As long as I don't have chest pain all is apparently well!

Hi GA1961, yes is difficult to see what and how. Like I said ,the first cardiologist was quit fast to finish and the second took his time, now I’m 30%- romanian cardiologist and 70% -English cardiologist, but because of my chest tiredness and this month the low heart rate when I’m sleeping ( even do I have it low heart rate, like last night, I woke up good, not tired not anything) I’m still l looking into it.
