Cant even relax in the bath ๐
hi. Getting into a hot bath can cause your blood pressure to drop which could explain the dizziness. Iโve noticed it when Iโve had a hot bath or shower, itโs connected to over heating. I hope that you feel better now and that your heart rate is back to normal. Xx
Thanks so much for your reply and got helpful info and definitely feel better just trying to get some sleep x
Humidity increases the workload for the heart and lungs, as well as heat. Just something to bear in mind.
Hey I've had this a few times, I've even had my partner help me out the bath because I was too weak to move. It doesn't happen all the time. It's hard to get the temperature right x
Yes unfortunately, I always prefer a bath to a shower but it's no longer worth the upset of my BP and the fatigue later. So it's the shower for me all the time. Assisted of course โน๏ธ
We don't have a bath in our house, but have two bathrooms with showers. I don't think I could get out of a bath these days. We have rails for safety in our en suite shower, and if eventually needed, there is plenty of room to fit a plastic chair in them. I'm happy with showers, but you can't enjoy the occasional bath with a bath bomb or salts. (Can't afford the water to fill a bath, anyway. ๐๐)
I wasn't aware how much it was affecting me cant use the shower as don't have the shower pole or curtain so would get water everywhere, yeah the fatigue I always noticed but I'm noticing it more, how do I know if it's affecting my BP?? Glad your getting assistance with it though but that helps alot.
Hi I'm really fit and a hot bath often takes my HR up to 115/120, I have waterproof Garmin watch so can see it in real time.
Only answer is to back that heat off
I like my hot baths and a good soak etc but following a couple of HAโs I find only way to still have them without getting dizzy is with bathroom door open - so room doesnโt steam up etc and let water drain out before I get out - gives my body time to cool down (and dry a bit!) before towelling down. Not ideal but at least works to an extent!

Hope you are feeling better now Yummy now you know why this happened to you. I was warned about hot baths and showers and how it can affect you. Also, l always make sure l have a snack before, donโt ask why, it just makes me feel better. Xx
Yeah thanks feeling so much better just super tired, I was warned about saunas and I think that's what the bathroom must of been like ๐. Definitely will keep window open next time 3rd times the charm. x yeah I had eaten before bath but forgot to drink plenty of water before so that didn't help. ๐ฅต๐ฅด
Yes, it gets a bit complicated and we are all different๐ตโ๐ซ but if we listen to our own bodies we can usually get there in the end. I always leave the bathroom door wide open because the humidity affects my breathing. I have low blood pressure so have just a warm shower. These things that happen can be very frightening and thatโs where this forum is so good. Have good Coronation weekend. ๐
Hello

I like a soak in the bath, hubsโll run it for me and, claims he tested it with elbow ๐คฃ Well it was way hot this morning and I needed to put a LOT of cold in. Was still a bit hot and I know the problems, so, before getting out I let out about 2/3rds and topped it with cold whilst laying in it. Was really nice, it cools you down better before getting out. I can end up with a bright red face ๐ but ok this time.
also make sure youโve a large glass of cold water with you!
Yes Iโve experienced this in the past. I like a hot bath but my body just canโt take it anymore.
One time I was so weak from popping the plug with my foot that I had to lie in the bath as the water was draining and struggling to keep my head up. I then started losing my vision and my body started to shake and I broke out in a sweat. Just had to wait and let it pass which thankfully didnโt take long but I was still very cautious and take it slowly.
I canโt have a shower too hot either because Iโve had near fainting with that too; especially when raising my arms to wash my hair ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Sounds like youโve had lots of great advice, I can recommend drinking plenty of cool water too ๐
Best wishes
