I decided to have a lovely hot bath well I added alot of cold water but couldn't of been enough as I lasted about 20 minutes and then my heart rate was through the roof could feel the blood rushing in my head felt faint and breathless so I got up slowly and dried myself and got a drink did my oximeter and my heart rate was 125 resting stayed like that for about 10 minutes and then went to 115 for another 5 minutes bout 20 minutes later was at about 109 then slowly went down to 100 but seriously twice this has happened now can't even relax in a nice bath with out nearly collapsing ๐Ÿ™„, water wasn't dangerously hot I'm not silly just a nice hot bath and did that what a joke, had this happened to anybody else??? ๐Ÿ›€๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿฅต

hi. Getting into a hot bath can cause your blood pressure to drop which could explain the dizziness. Iโ€™ve noticed it when Iโ€™ve had a hot bath or shower, itโ€™s connected to over heating. I hope that you feel better now and that your heart rate is back to normal. Xx

Thatโ€™s interesting to hear, I used to like a Bath but overheated and came out in a heat rash on my kneck, arms and chest ( even though the water wasnโ€™t that hot). I take bisoprolol, rampril, dijoxin and rivaraxoban, all have possible side affects of skin rash.

Humidity increases the workload for the heart and lungs, as well as heat. Just something to bear in mind.

Yeah will definitely bear this in mind in future I could feel myself getting very breathless and heart was beating like crazy so need to be so much more careful I know ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

Hey I've had this a few times, I've even had my partner help me out the bath because I was too weak to move. It doesn't happen all the time. It's hard to get the temperature right x

Yes unfortunately, I always prefer a bath to a shower but it's no longer worth the upset of my BP and the fatigue later. So it's the shower for me all the time. Assisted of course โ˜น๏ธ

We don't have a bath in our house, but have two bathrooms with showers. I don't think I could get out of a bath these days. We have rails for safety in our en suite shower, and if eventually needed, there is plenty of room to fit a plastic chair in them. I'm happy with showers, but you can't enjoy the occasional bath with a bath bomb or salts. (Can't afford the water to fill a bath, anyway. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜Š)

I wasn't aware how much it was affecting me cant use the shower as don't have the shower pole or curtain so would get water everywhere, yeah the fatigue I always noticed but I'm noticing it more, how do I know if it's affecting my BP?? Glad your getting assistance with it though but that helps alot.

Hi I'm really fit and a hot bath often takes my HR up to 115/120, I have waterproof Garmin watch so can see it in real time.

Only answer is to back that heat off

I like my hot baths and a good soak etc but following a couple of HAโ€™s I find only way to still have them without getting dizzy is with bathroom door open - so room doesnโ€™t steam up etc and let water drain out before I get out - gives my body time to cool down (and dry a bit!) before towelling down. Not ideal but at least works to an extent!

Thanks for your advice, yeah I will definitely have window open next time, I always do let the water drain and cool down before drying myself though.

Yeah thanks feeling so much better just super tired, I was warned about saunas and I think that's what the bathroom must of been like ๐Ÿ’”. Definitely will keep window open next time 3rd times the charm. x yeah I had eaten before bath but forgot to drink plenty of water before so that didn't help. ๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿฅด

Yes, it gets a bit complicated and we are all different๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ but if we listen to our own bodies we can usually get there in the end. I always leave the bathroom door wide open because the humidity affects my breathing. I have low blood pressure so have just a warm shower. These things that happen can be very frightening and thatโ€™s where this forum is so good. Have good Coronation weekend. ๐Ÿ˜€

I like a soak in the bath, hubsโ€™ll run it for me and, claims he tested it with elbow ๐Ÿคฃ Well it was way hot this morning and I needed to put a LOT of cold in. Was still a bit hot and I know the problems, so, before getting out I let out about 2/3rds and topped it with cold whilst laying in it. Was really nice, it cools you down better before getting out. I can end up with a bright red face ๐Ÿ™„ but ok this time.

Yeah I wonder why my face is bright red all the time after having a bath definitely will try this thanks x

Yes Iโ€™ve experienced this in the past. I like a hot bath but my body just canโ€™t take it anymore.

One time I was so weak from popping the plug with my foot that I had to lie in the bath as the water was draining and struggling to keep my head up. I then started losing my vision and my body started to shake and I broke out in a sweat. Just had to wait and let it pass which thankfully didnโ€™t take long but I was still very cautious and take it slowly.

I canโ€™t have a shower too hot either because Iโ€™ve had near fainting with that too; especially when raising my arms to wash my hair ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Sounds like youโ€™ve had lots of great advice, I can recommend drinking plenty of cool water too ๐Ÿ™‚

Best wishes
