hi I was on antidepressants and they do not want me to take them so have stopped them and I think it is the side effects of stopping but makes me really anxious then all things go through me head!

in reply toZed1063

Hello :-)

What reason have they given why they want you to stop the antidepressants if you do not mind me asking ?

It will be very hard for you if they were working and you were used to them helping how you feel to stop them and all your fears will come flooding back seems pretty harsh to just get you to stop them

Know these fears no doubt will be irrational but not easy to cope with

If this continues you should let your Doctor know as I am sure there must be something they could prescribe

Keep talking and saying how you feel that alone can help :-) x

they are not good for my heart as old if you like been on them 30 years! I think there are new ones but I would rather not take anything if I can what with all the heart meds I have to take it has only been 4 weeks so my body is still getting used to them as well. My problem is I worry to much than my mind takes over!

in reply toZed1063

Hello :-)

You had been on them some years there is no wonder you are feeling the side effects coming of them and I know it must feel awful but in time your body will adjust even though unpleasant for you while it does

I worry all day every day and my mind takes over to with every negative thought I have to try so hard to push it to the back of my mind and try and find a positive thought to replace it not easy but it is like re training your thought process

Have you thought about ant therapy this could help ?

Let the meds get out your system and you will start to adjust but you are not alone :-) x

Dear Zed1063

I also have had a restless night, mine is down to new medication.

What I tend to do is just relax and lie still in bed the best I can, unfortunately where they have harvested the veins from my leg can still ache and make getting comfortable hard.

I found { personally } that not engaging with any stimuli works well for me as when I did { lap top/ books music } it its woke my brain up more and I would never sleep.

I have tried all sorts of sleep aids and at its worse took a course of sleeping tablets which worked very well in getting me back into a sleep pattern.

But bad nights are a part of life for me, tonight will be a good one { I hope }

Take care

I had a couple of bad nights earlier this week. My mind just wouldn't settle - thankfully not a health related problem I was mulling over. I find that after lying in bed awake for a hour the best thing is to get up and watch a bit of catch-up TV. Watching the F1 Grand Prix is virtually guaranteed to do it for me... I rarely get past lap 5. 😂

I was awake most of the night too. I get to the stage where I feel I'm past getting to sleep. It's awful, because my mind starts wandering thinking about my health which sets my heartbeat fluttering away, then it's a vicious circle 😟.

Ah well after watching the coronation I'll have a little snooze later.

Hopefully you're not feeling too bad this morning.

Hi Lilly

The mind is terrible mine started thinking all stupid things like not being able to breathe. I just hate it during the night and once it starts it is hard to get it to stop. I feel so alone with no one to speak to at that time. I can’t sleep I think it is because of coming off the meds!

Hope your day is not too bad

Hi Zed1063

I think any change or adjustments to our meds can cause a lot of anxiety as it becomes so embedded into our daily routine, and then when a change is made, we suddenly feel a slight panic.

I’m not sure what meds you were on but, if you feel that coming off them is making you worse, then you should discuss this with your GP or most suitable healthcare provider.
