Blood Pressure

My BP has been pretty good since I've been on medication for angina but today I've felt headachy & dizzy. I have poor standing balance and BP is 87:47. Is this something I need to address? I found an online BP chart that puts this into the low band. Advice desperately needed as I have no knowledge of this.

That is low. Have you been drinking enough fluids? If your not on fluid restrictions, drink plenty of water & elevate your legs, that should bring your BP up but need to address why it's gone so low. Maybe ring NHS help line for advice.

Thank you for reply.

I’ve been on a 2 litres of water regime since before I knew I had a cardio problem 😉 and today I’m on track with that.

I’ll ring 111 but very nervous about another night in A&E

I get your concern bout A&E but always err on the side of caution. Are you on beta blockers? The GP wasn't very happy bout my husbands BP when it went down to low 80's over low 50's & reduced his bisoprolol which did the trick.

I’m on Bisoprolol as well: 1.25mg. Started on 2.5 but halved it on GP’s advice when BP was too far out of range. Can’t remember which way 🙄 BP has been good until today.

Might just be a blip. It is very hot today maybe that's a contributing factor.

Hi, this happened to me on bisoprolol, if the doc reduced it then your BP would probably have been on the low side. So if it was reduced recently it can take a few days for the higher dose to be out of your system. I had those same symptoms plus severe breathless and now they don't prescribe them for me at all. Just take it easy and call your GP Monday morning before taking the beta blocker. Hope your feeling better soon. The side effects from meds can make you feel worse that the problem they are prescribed for.
