Went for my appointment today at the chest pain clinic after my suspected Unstable Angina attack on Easter Sunday. They did an ECG, took my weight and height and then I spoke to the Cardiologist. After going through my medical history and asked about what I do for a living he's told me that as my ECG was good and my cholesterol was fine at 4.8 (or 48 but I can't remember which one but more likely 4.8 after I googled) he reckons it's a gastric issue. I mentioned about the glyceryl trinitrate spray working when I've had tight chest since the incident and he says it's because it opens up the esophegus. So good news on the heart front (although I'm still pretty certain that the attack I had wasn't gastric). Just got to book to see my GP about looking into gastric issues now.

Good luck with your continued journey,
I got fob off for years as having IBS { a group they put you in when they haven't got a clue }
It ended up that I had a almighty huge ulcer , that after a strong course of antibiotics cleared up and miracle on miracle my IBS vanished overnight along with half a dozen tablets that I had been taking for years { with little effect }
Take care
Thankyou for your reply. I've been fobbed off with the IBS diagnosis for many years now as well. I've had a colonoscopy to rule out Crohn's disease but not had an endoscopy yet. Glad to hear you got sorted out for your issue, must be been nice not having to suffer with the inconvenience of IBS any more.
Yes it is, I pushed for an Endoscopy and that's when it was found.
That's good to know thankyou, I'm going to request one myself when I see my GP. I have trouble with IBS as well as GERD, so if the pain I felt recently was supposed to be related to either of those then I want to know exactly what the problem is because I don't want to go through that again.
