Good morning Hope your all keeping well.

I was speaking to a ex paediatric cardiac nurse and she said neither she or the cardiologist she worked with had heard of a young person having HCM and aortic root dilatation.

Haa anyone got any thoughts on this please.

I would ask how long it is since she worked in cardiology. Some years ago the wife of a director came up with utter rubbish in relation to my diabetes. I subsequently found out that she had quit nursing twenty years previously. Out of date and out of touch.

Do you or a family member have these conditions?

Last year, left when she had her baby. My husband has HCM but no aortopathy that we know of in the family. I was a little surprised when she said that as he is at GOSH and nobody had mentioned this before.

Maybe she's an ex nurse for a reason... a quick Google of pediatric HCM brings up quite a lot of results.

Thank you as always words of wisdom here 🙂

if I’ve learnt anything over the last year it’s that not all cardiologists and nurses are built the same and some know very little and only a very few know a lot.

I agree with Hidden

Even my Cardiologist of many years experience freely acknowledges, he is no expert in caring for patients living with my rare type of angina.
