I have been told I have Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction,Moderate with an ejection fraction of 36% down from 40% three years ago, after having an Echocardiogram.I have 2 narrowings in 2 of my arteries and I’m also type 2 diabetic and have high blood pressure which is a struggle to control evenwuth medication as I’m on maximum dosage of everything and it’s been tweaked a couple of times. So am I at risk of getting heart failure,if someone could help me please.I’m not due to see my cardiologist until June, which is worrying me as I think that i should be seen before,I’m 55 years old and I’m male.

It's difficult to advise re your recent echo & EF reduction as we don't know what meds you're on etc & your health sounds quite complex. But your EF is close to the level where you could be prescribed Entresto which could be a game changer for you. Do you have a cardiac nurse you could talk it through with or maybe your GP as they're the ones who would know your overall health situation. Failing that why not contact the BHF nurses on this site as they would know whether the small reduction will be an issue or not taking into account your high blood pressure, narrowing of your arteries & your diabetes. Good luck 🤞
