Hi, we have an omron & checked the accuracy with the hospitals BP monitor, they both matched. Are you able to ask your local pharmacy to check the accuracy against their monitor? It may help to put your mind as rest
I looked this up on google and if the lower BP number is normal and the upper one is 'high' as in hypertension it would indicate a' higher than normal' BP.I am not a medic.Just saying what I read. But it might indicate you want to have a word on Monday with your GP. BPs seem to change a lot during the day and mine have been pretty awful recently following kidney 'blip'.Anything, it seems can affect the ups and downs of blood pressure so I would not overworry over the weekend about this. I find some fresh air can help .a walk or sit in the garden if you have one.Even talking to us here can help a bit.
Yes, it does help because im still new at understanding what these nos mean. The second figure has been 78 and 72.
That sounds very reasonable. My doc. reckons 70-80 lower number is good for me at 84. .....and 120 would be excellent . I am 'battling' with the upper numeral at present. As I said these numerals do vary for all kinds of reasons and not least anxiety often gets into the mix.
Hi jaypan, if I'm having a blood pressure review at my Dr's surgery they like to view my record of a weeks worth of readings - so perhaps keeping a record of your readings over the weekend would be helpful when you ring your GP. Also record the time of day and whether you had been active or resting just before.
I was having readings above 150 over 95 at one time and, if they hadn't come back down as I reduced a new medication I was on, the Dr would have increased my BP meds to bring it down.
The surgery nurse advised me to take my BP twice a day and record the lowest of 2 or 3 readings each time - she said this was the recommended and accepted way to do it. Also to make sure I sit down at the table to relax for 10 minutes before taking it.
Sending good wishes and I hope it's soon sorted 😊
Thankyou for this, i find this very helpful some routine to adhere to and a definite plan for the next 2 days. Certainly the ten minutes stillness before taking a reading. I have conected my phone so it is keeping a record. J
Hi Don't worry too much That will push it up even more . You are just into the range 140 where it records it as sightly highYour resting one the lower one is good Great you now have it on your phone so can show them
hi jaypan I too take bisoperal and apixiban I had a crypto ablation which worked for me I am ever so grateful and my consultant has advised that as they are both low dose I should keep taking them as I feel great with no side effects I hope this helps
