I recently had 4 stents fitted in 2 of my arteries. The pain I felt before being admitted to the rapid access clinic has gone . My operation was 6 months ago. Recently I have been experiencing a pain similar.to my angina pain if I miss.my tablet time.and now a couple.of hours before. Should I be concerned or is this normal?

i would call 111. They will advise you.

Dear robertslade1956.

No this is not normal and needs investigating, call 111 and follow instructions, use your GTN spray when the pain comes on.

Good luck

I had a bypass just over three months ago. I was told that it was possible for angina to return in the short term (months) or long term (years) after the operation or stenting, although this isn’t common in the short term. So, yes, it’s possible. You will need to have the symptoms investigated. You might be able to determine if it’s angina by using a GTN spray to see if it’s effective or not. However, I am not recommending this as I’m not medically qualified- it might be something to discuss with a GP.
