Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with angina following one episode of severe pain, nausea and feeling very hot. Numerous tests later,angina is the cause. What I am having problems with is understanding what angina pain feels like. I often have a feeling of something in my chest but I wouldn't describe it as pain, more discomfortable, not unlike indigestion.

Hi Brangwyn. It’s difficult to describe because it varies from person to person. And what you’re describing could be angina or it could be indigestion (which does a pretty good job of mimicking heart issues sometimes). What meds are you on? When you have your ‘lesser’ pains are you using your GTN? Does this info from the BHF help at all? bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo...
Thank you for the link. I am on calcium channel blockers. I have used GTN when I have lesser pain but it doesn't help it. For example I have had a dull feeling in my chest for well over 24hours & I have had it this long before It is just hard to make a judgement call. Thanks for replying.
