Can anyone tell me what's next I've had undiagnosed Afib fir years from time to time reverting to normalise in-between. Had a severe case of sepsis which effected my heart with the massive doses of antibiotics, made it go into afib. They kept dosing me with various drugs trying to slow it down resorting to belladonna very scary. Have come out of hospital and left on beta blockers and apixaban. The beta blockers are making my heart beat go as low as 46. Also I Normally have low blood pressure and they are making it even lower so feel rotten and can hardly do anything will I be stuck on these beta blockers for ever can't get any info out of the doctors always too busy to ring despite promising too

A fib
No one here will be able to say how long you'll be on certain medication for.
If phone calls aren't coming, make an appointment, you'll be given a set time to speak to a GP. Remember it takes time for the body to adjust to new medication, things might even themselves out. Keep an eye on any side effects (preferably in a diary) and report this when you have your appointment.
Hi KIMMY60.
Medication dosages often need "tweaking" to suit each individual.
One size does not fit all
Or if that particular medication is unsuitable - there's most always an alternative. These things can take time to get just right.
But you would likely benefit from a pro-active approach. I know from personal experience how difficult this can be, when you are feeling at your worst, but it has to be done.
Do not give up on making contact with your GP, it's in your own best interest. Be pleasant, but PERSISTANT.
I tend to present myself physically at the surgery reception, then they have to deal with you.
If necessary, make an appointment to speak with the Practice Manager.
Good luck.
