So i started dapagliflozin about 3 weeka ago. Around this time but possibly before i started getting flushed face during the day for no apparent reason. I do have aniexity but i have been calm when this appears and even whilst its there as i dont have any other symptoms or feelings other than a warm face. Just wondering if anyone else with heart failure gets this or if anyone has it with taking meds? Dapagliflozin, entresto, fuersomide, apixiban, etc..
I think that first we have to know both why and how the face flushes,
" Flushed skin occurs when the hundreds of tiny blood vessels just beneath the skin dilate, or widen. When these blood vessels expand, they rapidly fill with more blood, which can make the skin appear red or pink"
Certainly a lot of the drugs that you and many are on { me included } can cause this, but you have to remember that I am not medically trained and that in rare cases flushing could be a sign of an underlying problem.
You know anxiety can cause it and there are many other triggers, but with your past history its best to get it checked out especially if its new to you.
I've been on Dapagliflorin (for dual purposes, heart & diabetes) along with a cocktail of other meds. for 3 years now and can say, I've never experienced any flushing, as a side effect, or any negative side effects for that matter.
This may be presenting as a result of another underlying condition, or a reactive response to something you've eaten or been exposed to.
Consider a consult with your GP or request a medication audit/review with the practice Pharmacist, to get the ball rolling.
Hi i also take Entresto,Dapagliflozin, Furosemide and Bisaprolol, been taking this cocktail for about 6 months now and have never suffered from facial flushes, the only side effect i get is a feeling of nausea, not too bad but i have learned to live with it, probably be a good idea to talk to your GP or Consultant, it may be something or nothing but best to get it checked out, all the best.
