Hi All,As we all know AFib can cause many other problems and symptoms, a wonderful thing and every day is different.
I am under Thoracic consultant at hospital, due to breathing issue, that may be linked to my AFib.
So my question is, how do others cope with lower Sp02, mine will go down to 89 mainly at night, and so breathing feels heavy, get a lightheaded and feel nausea's, at what point would you consider to take this further, ie, ambulance, going to A&E?
Thanks

I don't know much about SP02 other than my understanding that a normal spo2 level is between 95 & 100 unless you have a lung condition. I would definitely contact your GP about it but if it happens again out of hours I would phone nhs111 for advice especially if you're having symptoms.
hello I get low levels during sleep and some points in the day similar to yours and as low as 83% (got down to 74% once). As far as I know I don’t have AF though.
Googling says it’s an emergency but I just called the GP and they referred me to sleep consultant as I also snore, overweight etc re suspected sleep apnea.
definitely worth calling GP if not 111.
for now try sleeping propped up with pillows so on an incline. And not on your back. Right side preferably.
I have just done sleep test for sleep apnea, also lung function test, as lungs not filling or emptying full, awaiting an appointment to see Thoracic consultant with results
I have done 2 different tests at home, one was a pulse, Sp02 test, which is basically a watch on your wrist and monitor on your finger overnight. Second one was a partial Polysomnography (NOX), a unit on your t-shirt, two monitors on you via a waistband, across your chest and under your belly button, and a unit again on your wrist and figure, both non invasive and easy, but they want 8 hours of sleep, only did 3.5 and 4 hours, as don't sleep.
thanks for explaining I don’t know which I’ll have but it says to wear loose clothing but it’s a standard letter / leaflet. I hope it picks up something. I can drop off easily and stay asleep for a couple of hours then it’s constant waking sleeping waking sleeping pattern. 👍
Sounds like a Polysomnography test, sleep in your t-shirt, as unit is clipped to it. I struggle to get to sleep, as have Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) as well, sleep 3 to 4 hours on average, hence alway fatigued.
Just waiting on results for sleep study, lung function test, as my lungs do not inflate full. Have to wait on appointment now.Yes, it is very scary not breathing correctly, I wondered about my FitBit, so got a Oximetry and that's showing very similar, sometimes lower SpO2.
