MRI Stress Test

Hi everyone, I would like to thank you all for getting me through the stress test that I was so scared of. I went this morning. As I feared, it took them ages to find the veins for the cannulas and they called a doctor to do it in the end. The scan part was fine as I don’t suffer from claustrophobia, yoga has taught me how to hold my breath, which I was asked to do lots of times over the hour and a half. The dye stung a little bit as it went in and the stress injection, which I was most scared of, was slightly uncomfortable but quickly over. I survived! It is thanks to you all though that I even made it there!

Well Done. 👏🍾a lot of our tests can be scary and a little uncomfortable. But you did it. Over now and time to look forward to the summer and lovely warm days.

Well done for getting through it! 😊. I've never had one and really hope I don't ever have to 😉.

well, don’t panic like I did if you do because it really isn’t that terrible. I nearly ran away but thanks to the lovely people on here, I decided to be brave.

I knew you would be fine! Well done! When do you get your results?

Well done, Jackabee. I feel your pain with the cannula. though. The nurse just couldn't get the cannula in my arm. After several tries he had to call a doctor who had to use ultrasound to get it into place.

it’s horrid being pricked up and down your arms and hands, isn’t it?

Sure is. I never used to be afraid of having a cannula inserted, but I dread them now.

So often, the anticipation is much worse than the actual procedure! Glad you have that behind you!

hi, I’m glad you got through it ok. Sorry I’m coming on late after you posted this but I was wondering how you got on with your results.

I had the nuclear stress test yesterday and i found it extremely painful, couldn’t breathe, pain in chest, stomach, head eyes, dizzy and lightheaded. It was an awful experience, and I didn’t expect it would be! I have my rest test next week! So hopefully won’t have to wait too long after that for results, I’ve been waiting 10 months for this stress test as it is x

Hi Gemma, I am sorry that you had such a rough time with the test. I didn’t feel much during the test at all ( where there’s no sense, there’s no feeling as they say) . For me the fear before was greater than the actual test. My results were that my EF had gone from 30 to 60 and so I was very happy that I went through with it in the end. I did get a call back some weeks later because someone had expressed concern about ‘jelly in the heart area’ but after an ECG they had no further concerns. I hope that your results show an improvement too.
