I remember seeing a post which I think mentioned sinus congestion possibly related to drugs used for high blood pressure but now can't find it. My husband has been taking ramipril and amlodipine for several years and for the last 2-3 years has suffered intermittent but significant congestion - feeling stuffed up nasal, sinus and ears for a few hours at a time. GP's efforts at a fix have had no effect. He has just started taking indapamide as well and it seems to have got worse. Could it be the drugs? Does anyone have any experience of this? TIA

Many thanks. I don't think it's the one but then I could be misremembering! The memory has been known to let me down...🙄
Or maybe this one? healthunlocked.com/bhf/post...
i have had the same problem for the last three months but mine is continous and as i also have some hearing loss (wear hearing aids) i am currently waiting my doctors appointment (end of month ) as i also think it could be the drugs i am on had the same problem last year but it stopped after a couple of weeks
It may well be the ramipril. But, there doesn’t seem to be an acknowledgment of this within the medical establishment. For context, having complained at length about my congestion and blocked eustachian tube I was eventually referred to ENT. They didn’t really help.
Once I stopped taking Ramipril, my ears eventually cleared.
Hi, I was on amlodipine and ramipril for some years with no issues. A few years ago now I was taken off amlodipine and put on Bisoprolol, as it was deemed to be more suited to my condition (atrial/ventricular fibrillation and HF). The bispoprolol gave me an annoying runny nose which I strill live with, as apart from that it does a good job. The point I am rather lon windedly tring to make is that, yes, although I have no personal experience of indapamide, it is entirely possible that drugs could be affecting your husband in the way you describe.
He could have a word with his GP/Consultant but may decide, as I have, that on balance the benefits of the medication outweigh the side effects.
Good luck.
