Well after 12 months I've actually got an outpatient appointment to see a cardiologist, but .......

As some of you regular members might have seen since I joined the forum, I've replied to some posts where members have complained about being left to 'get on with it ' after leaving hospital after a heart attack, and not had any follow up with a cardiologist.

I've chased and chased the cardiologist's secretary, asked for an appointment for the last 12 months, been referred by my GP to the rapid access (that's a laugh) chest pain clinic last April, still waiting by the way, with no success, then yesterday -guess what - an appointment has finally come through for the 4th April . Result you might say, but......

I had to ring and cancel as we have moved out of the area, from Lincolnshire to North Yorkshire. Ironic isn't it 🤣? Got to laugh though.

Hello Lily :-)

I started reading your title then saw the but and though O no but carried on reading and could not believe it !

I am so pleased you have kept your sense of humour though I am not sure if I could have but let's hope North Yorkshire has a quicker turn around I would start now chasing them just in case but fingers crossed if you still need an appointment I hope it is soon :-)

I also hope you are settled and happy with the move you have made :-) x

Thank you for your good wishes. To be honest, on the day of the move I had to go to the local hospital and they have now diagnosed AF. I've been telling them in Lincolnshire that there's been something going on since my heart attack for nearly a year, now at least I'm on extra medication for it, even though I ended up in A&E😆.

Hello :-)

Lily I believe the most of us know our own bodies the best and you have proven that theory

Sorry you ended up at the Hospital on the day of the move and sorry to hear you have AF but I am pleased that finally you have a diagnosis for how you have been feeling and are on the right medications which I hope are making you feel a lot better :-) x

I can relate to this although not a cardiac matter.

As a younger woman (pre menopause) I suffered very badly with my periods, eventually I had some day exploratory surgery where I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and after several appointments with a gynaecologist it was decided I would have a hysterectomy. At this time I was living in Bristol but working in South Wales.

I went on the waiting list sometime in the late '90's but no call was forthcoming. I moved to South Wales in '03 and later that year a letter was forwarded to me from Bristol giving me an appointment for the surgery which I obviously declined.

Luckily nature did the trick so I didn't suffer for many years after this but it can be very frustrating being put on another waiting list where you have to start all over again!

3 years next month since my heart attack and stent. Haven't seen a GP or cardiologist since I left hospital.

Still waiting for my 6 week follow up from eye surgery in January. January 2022!!!

I'm doing fine, which is more than can be said of the NHS.

We are also from Lincolnshire and my husband hasn’t had an appt with his cardiologist since his heart attack last June. Also still waiting on an appointment with lipids clinic. On the plus side cardio rehab have been fantastic here. Hope you are settling well since your move to Yorkshire

hi, I had a NSTEMI and a stent in May 2021 and live in North Yorkshire and can only say my treatment and support has been great.

Cardio appointments on time and GP check ups as scheduled considering this was partly during the plague I’ve had a good experience. I realise on the scale of severity I am at the lower end of the spectrum, so I’m guessing more complex cases receive just as good if not better MOT’s.

My only comment is as the blood work results are all good, so my medication is not reviewed, which I could ask for, but I’m doing ok so let sleeping dogs lie!

Hopefully you will receive good treatment in NY!
