Is there anyone here around my age (37) with similar heart issues?

I was just recently diagnosed with Angina and heart disease and I already had hypertension for a couple of years. I had a heart attack last year and I was wondering if anyone around my age has been through some of these things.

Dear Csoguy1

A warm welcome to you, I hope that you find this place as informative and supportive as I and many other members do.

So sorry that I am not in your age group, but I have had a journey and a half with heart issues the last few years so if I can be of any help to you please don't hesitate to ask.

Heart problem affect many at all walks of age , but I fully understand that having help from your own age group is very important.

Take care

In recent months we have had a lot of people on here with similar problems who are even younger than you. Are any of the problems you describe through being overweight or not enough exercise or a poor diet as those can be rectified which may help your overall condition?

Overweight and lack of exercise are not an issue, I never get to sit still at work or at home haha. My diet could be better but I wouldn’t say it’s awful.

I was 30 when I started to get angina and at 31 had a triple bypass now nearly 77 have in recent years taken up walking football, bike riding and generally keeping fit. I would say i didn’t have a heart attack so was put right before any critical damage was done to my heart.

My OP in 1977 was at the early stages of bypass surgery and these days I dare say the process is probably far more efficient and safer.Of course drugs could also play an important part of your therapy maybe before surgery.I was very fit and they moved very quickly to operate. With one hiatus when my first op was stopped after pre med given and my set aside blood B Rhesus Negative Blood (quite rare)was used for a lady in a road accident.

My family’s problem hyper cholesterol anemia caused the problem which the surgeon told me I would not be rid of.However the cholesterol in small lumps on the back of my hands and cholesterol in my ankles receded due to drugs I was on.Although the arcing (white circles round mid eyeball) remain. All in all 45 years and counting when at the outset of it how scared I felt with a wife and 2 little girls to worry about.

One bit of advice a little cruel is if you have not got a good life policy and have a family get some good cover even if it’s loaded, and tell them about your condition so as not to void it.

I did because I was inadequately covered it was loaded but gave me peace of mind and as time went on the cost stayed the same as my earnings went up.

Hey. I'm 38 and although are symptoms are not the same I have been through heart troubles recently (triple bypass)

It sometimes seems difficult at our age as guidance is often people slightly later in life. (No offense to anyone!)

I hope you are ok and feel free to message if you'd like to talk.
