4 weekes after having a pacemaker fitted and pre AV node abalation. I got the all clear to run again.Just did 5k (not a park run) in 42 min which is a Afib pre op norm.
Has anyone had any spacific issues with park runs as my first park run since OP on sat. I have my ICE contact details on my watch just incase of complications. And will inform the event when i do a park run that i have a pacemaker as there carry a defib at events.

No issue at all. I had valve replacement in August and was tailwalking after four weeks, running after six. Times slowly coming back down. The core teams are well aware people may have hidden issues and you won't be the only one on the starting line. My home parkrun is relatively small (typically 100 per week) but had 3 of us participants having major heart ops over the summer!
Thanks for your reply BB. I did a 5k on monday and it went well. Did a 4 mile walk today. And another due tomorrow. Will let you know how i get on,on sat.Its nice to know others have done it.
I imagin if i mention it at the run on sat i will find others
You've done brilliantly, keep it up. I suspect most parkruns have a heart recovery graduate or two at each run. It's been great physically for me, but mentally it's been amazing. Good luck!
Superb, nice one! Onwards & upwards - you'll have the odd bad run but you know yourself that heart-healthy parkrunners do too. I've been parkrunning again for five months now and apart from keeping an eye on my heart rate and ensuring I have a proper warm-up & cool-down (this has all been drilled in to me by the rehab team) I don't give my heart or new valve a thought.
Sounds like you are doing it right. Got a heart peak of 202 on a really steep hill but for a very short time. Still due the AV abalation so pacemake not in full control yet. My garmin also doesnt work to well with the AF so cant rely on the reading. Plus by body just getting used to it again.
