Finally got my echo results…

after having to chase my results I’ve finally got some answers,

I had the scan back in December and after several phone calls to the hospital and gp they have located my results.

my aorta was shown to be within limits in conjunction with my height after initially being told it was 33mm enlarged. Right ventricle is very slightly enlarged but nothing to be worried about but it does say echo scans ain’t always very accurate.

I have an appointment with the cardiologist in a couple of weeks which I am still slightly anxious about but will have to wait to see what they say.

yeah I think so. Although I’m still having chest pains and that makes me really anxious because it makes you think there must be something but I guess we have to trust what they are telling us!

I will explain to the cardiologist what’s happening aswell and see what they say. That is next Wednesday

they still think is muscle related but you would of thought that would have eased after such a long period

without having a look at my medical record I wouldn’t know. I’d say I have with the amount of tests I’ve had done but not 100% sure

what is a bnp test?

it’s a blood test that can show heart failure issues so a high reading will indicate issues to the cardio team. It was one of the first tests I had done before the echo.

ah ok in that case yeah I would of had that back in October when I went in on the day ward with chest pains. They did ecg, bloods and X-ray

I believe it’s a guide to heart failure by seeing how your heart is working or if it’s under stress

Up to 100 is normal I was 180 4 months ago 485 now and I trying to think why or if AF can be the issue during the time of the test
