Does anyone know if magnetic wrist bands (for pain relief, such as joints) affect the heart electrical signals.
I have PAF and so far in 5 months have had 2 'all nighters' with visits to A&E. I have taken off my magnetic band but have no way of knowing if it is harmful to my poor old AF heart anyway. I have been enjoying pain free joints because of it and would like to keep wearing it (even if its a placebo!)

Unless anyone with afib has been denied an MRI or told not to use an induction hob, I would have thought a small magnetic field on the wrist is extremely unlikely to affect anyone with afib. If unsure wear it on the right arm away from the heart.
thank you for that. I will keep wearing it because as you say it is such a small mag field, compared to what comes from the ground or televisions possibly.👍
This business of magnetic fields and radiation generally is an interesting one. We had all sorts of conspiracy theories about mobile phone masts but 5g masts seem to be in a different category of power and wavelength, and what with powerful phones, servers and boosters in various places and all sorts of other electro magnetic interference in the house and outside it is worth wondering if they may be a partial cause of what seems to be an increasing amount of heart disturbances.
I don't know about wrist bands but presumably IF they are powerful enough to work on joints-and I remain sceptical-then presumably they may affect other parts of the body. An interesting field and if the Govt would just give us a grant of £1 million or so, we could study it at our leisure!
Yes indeed it needs research and i agree that so much is unknown about how mag fields affect us.Its hard to know what affects my afib because its so intermittent and i cannot do a controlled experiment.
