Does anyone have any experience of left calf pain. It is not something I would usually bother about, but when I had a mild h.a. 16 months ago the Doctor asked me if I suffered from calf pain. Hence, the reason for me question. Thanks in anticipation to 💖 hearties

Left calf pain.
At best this could be nothing but the fact you’re asking I’d wager that you have a concern,.
I don’t wish to alarm you & I obviously cannot see your leg & so I am not diagnosisng you by any means here but would get checked out by doctors quickly as a precaution particularly if
Is the pain increasing when walking then diminishing when you stop, Is this pain in the calf unusual, any swelling/tightness in the one calf or redness and/or possibly heat coming from the redness, discolouration of the limb/toes, can you pull your toes up towards you when leg outstretched or does this increase the calf pain - there is a possibility these (or even unmentioned symptoms) could be deep vein thrombosis or DVT, or signs of cellulitis/infection - these would need immediate treatments
Hope it’s just nothing to worry about - update us how you get on.
Thanks, you are reiterating my thoughts after googling. I will phone the Doctor and get things checked. Thankyou for your reply. Regards and take care
Don’t be put off if they say wait till tomorrow voice your concern as to what it could be and they should see you or send you to A/E
Thanks 🙏🙏
How did you get on yesterday? Hope you got the all clear
Your cardiologist asked this because it helps them to form a picture of the condition of your arteries beyond your heart as they can also be affected by the damage which leads to heart attacks
you don't actually say whether you are now having calf pain - if you do, before you seek medical advice try to work out when you get it (when active or not), does anything help get rid of it? (e.g. rest, massage, stretches, hot pack/ice), what type of pain is it? (sharp, dull, throbbing)
if it has just started and is as Afibflipper describes you should definitely be asking your GP or 111
if it happens occasionally then check out Peripheral artery disease/intermittent claudication as Jennyx suggests
Thanks for your help. I am ,as you suggest, trying to work out if I have strained it plus what improves or causes pain. It doesn't bother me overnight. I also suffer from back pain so wondering if this maybe the cause. Will follow your suggestions to determine what is going on before I bother the doctor. Again, I am grateful for your reply and will check link. 🙏
hi.
I’m 76 nearly and around 6 weeks ago had pain in my right calf. I was worried that it could be a Deep vein thrombosis so I went to see the Dr who examined me and said it wasn’t a DVT but did say it was a muscle injury. I asked ‘ how long for it to go away’ ( as it was agony walking) and he said ‘could be several weeks. Massage it twice a day.’
I bought some size F Tubigrip and that made my leg feel so much better.
Just get it checked out first before doing anything. Hope it’s just a muscular thing like mine was.
Good luck.
Ellie Ann.
hope all goes well for you. It’s six weeks since my calf was really bad but it’s almost fine now.👍
