irregular heartbeat

hello I’m new to the forum and feeling a little anxious as it was noticed almost a year ago at a diabetic review that I had an irregular heartbeat. I’m going for ECG tomorrow and hoping they won’t find anything bad.

im wondering if my BP medication is the culprit as have read the information that comes with them which says contact your Gp immediately if you have an irregular heartbeat.

I am in the same situation - just started medication for fast/ irregular heartbeat and waiting for echocardiogram and consultant appointment to consider treatment/outlook. Lots of luck with your ECG tomorrow and hope things turn out well

I’m hoping I won’t have to take medication as I struggle to take any medications and very low doses.

Take a little notebook and write down in advance any questions you might have and write down any answers or anything else that strikes you during the procedure

If taking meds means you can carry on your life as you want, why not take them? Our bodies experience many blips, either through heredity or lifestyle, so if taking a medication allows you to do what you want when you want, it's a no-brainer. An irregular heartbeat is not a death sentence!

Yes, we have fillings for our teeth, glasses for our eyes and accept many types of medication such as those in order to enjoy a better life so taking actual meds is sensible although they may need to be adjusted to suit your body.

it’s the medications that cause me problems and makes my problems worse, there are no answers as I seem to be unique with this sort of problem.

I have just had a pacemaker fitted after 9 years of AF.I started with an eptopic heart beat.

I think the contribting issues were i was overweight causing me to snore. Later finding out i had sleep abnea. When i finaly went into perminant AF.

This may not be the same for you but i do belive my weight and stopping breathing (sleep apnea) contributed to my AF.

Better late than never. I have just shed 2 stone.

If you snore badly. Worth having it checked.
