The past few days , 4ish, I've been really struggling to catch my breath. It's like a tightness across my chest and even sitting doesn't help. Also been having more nosebleeds, out of both nostrils, which is wierd even for me. Im still working and just pushing theough it, but its bloody painful.

I don't have my first appt with cardio until the 10th of Feb, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Based on what you’ve said and this is not medical advice / I’m not a doctor but you’re in pain and it’s been a few days and I’m assuming you was not in pain before that then perhaps you should seek medical help? If it’s unusual for you and things don’t improve with rest, it’s worth having someone take a look? Start with 111? But if changes suddenly 999. Good luck.

Hello :-)

I know it is not the best time to be going to A&E as they seem to be busy but I think as these changes have come on and now it is 4 days you need to be checked over

It could be nothing but you need to find out

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Please do consider attending Accident and Emergency or an Urgent Care Centre. You can contact 111 to discuss your symptoms and see what urgent services are available locally

Definitely A&E. I went last week with palpitations and tiredness. I was there only 2 hours, including triage, ECG, bloods, thorough doctor examination to check for stroke/TIA. They were very impressive, although it was pretty busy.

as others have said you are probably best to get yourself down to A&E to get checked out and peace of mind

Go to the Emergency Room ASAP!

please go to A&E and get an ecg and a blood test to check troponin levels ASAP, would not just sit and wait if I were you!

Good luck

Much better to get it checked rather than sit and worry at home.

I went to A&E on Monday pm after a weekend of weird chest pain/ discomfort. Red flagged through - triaged twice, ECGs, bloods etc and allowed home after four hours once my pulse and BP had settled. All tests came back OK and appt for 3 day rhythm test already for the end of next week!!

I know that the news regarding the NHS is bad, but never leave it if you are worried.

I had similar and did follow advice and called 999 even though I felt a bit silly doing it as although I had chest pain I could manage it and although I had breathlessness I could sit and it would improve.

BUT I glad I did call the ambulance as the hospital kept me is for 4 days lots of test and diagnosed pericarditis mitral valve for a girl dictation and enlarged atrium. Now I’m resting when my body tells me and taking meds, and stopped work for a few months and I’m improving

Update- rang 111 they sent a paramedic out, they couldn't see any cause but has said ring the Dr's on Monday. In the meantime just have to see how it goes over the weekend.

A wise decision. Are you by any chance taking ticagrelor? It made me feel as if I couldn't get my breath; like an asthma attack but not pain

Nope only on amatryptalin.

It was just a thought because it affected me badly. Had to get it changed. Only side effect from amitrip was to make me feel like a zombie and sleep all the time.
