Hi everyone hope your all having a good start to the year! 😀
I have been advised my consultant or a member of his team to monitory heart rate so I have been and today it picked up a BPM of 121 probably should add that I had beeb cleaning the bathroom very thoroughly 😅👌and I did the measurement reading while I was standing.
Now I've looked up about how much your heart rate should increase its says an extra 10 beats, my resting heart rate is around 80 something so my question is a bpm of 121 normal when standing up just wondering because if not is it possible I could have POTS.
Been feeling off for bout a week now I'm not sure what it is feel more breathless, tired, no energy, heart rate goes up a lot when I'm standing up I have to do alot of standing because I'm a full time carer but I have to rest alot more then I would normally.
Hope someone has some advice or reassurance that this is normal I'm literally worrying myself sick!
❤️

Yumz199725 Hi I have Atrial Fibrillation which causes my heart to be irregular. My heart rate quite often goes up to 120 and very occasionally above this especially when standing and doing activities. When resting it can drop as low as 50 +. My Cardio doctor is aware of this and I am on Bisoprolol 2.5mg to lower my heart rate and Amiodarone to try to help my heart rate be more regular. I have had this problem for five years. If you are worried might I suggest you have a chat with your doctor to check if there is treatment to correct this. Good luck and stay safe.
Thanks so much for your reply. So your heart rate when you do have AFiB does go higher when being active or standing for literally just few minutes. I have been to my doctor today he was very nice I actually went about breathlessness and he did advise to go to A&E but I was reluctant to go because of the NHS strike and he was very nice about everything and he arranged ecg and blood test having the ecg today. Glad your on medication to help you I'm on verapamil 40mg x2 for my heart.
