I have been diagnosed with myopericarditis recently. When can I start going for light walks? The thought of staying indoors doing nothing is driving me insane.

Myopericarditis
I guess when you feel up to it? Or a doctor says you can? Do your symptoms stop you going out side?
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Hi,I've been living with myocarditis since July. The only consistent advice I've ever had is to rest, rest and rest some more.
It seems to be down to the individual, I've heard of some folk being given the all clear after 2 weeks, but most seem to take longer. A good bit of advice I got was to keep my heart rate under 100bpm - so if you can maintain that on a gentle walk it might be ok for you.
Just watch yourself, especially in the cold - it can trigger the symptoms again.
Hi,welcome to the group.i have had myocarditis since June 2022. My advice is go slow and steady. Listen to your body, the recovery from this I have learnt is very individual. Each journey is different. I have received excellent support from the hospital based cardic rehab team ,and next week start a supervised cardic rehab class in the community. Don't push yourself, just standing and looking in the outside can lift your spirits. Take care .
Hi 25555
I've had myopericarditis for 18 months and was told complete rest when I was diagnosed in October 21 - I had symptoms for around 7 months before then but ignored them😕 My Cardiologist said it's the only time his advice is no exercise!
I can walk on flat ground but do struggle with hills and stairs, if I over do it I know about it later in the day or the next day!
So as the others say rest and don't push yourself. If you feel up for a walk take it slowly and if you are breathless or have chest pain stop. Hope you're feeling better soon.
one of the complications of Voldemort has been Myocarditis - when this started affect young male athletes in the US, the effect on various commercial issues stimulated interest in establishing recovery programmes to help the athletes return to physical fitness (and be economically productive!)
This is a paper about that, it includes a helpful flowchart - if you look at the parts from "Confirmation of Myocarditis" you might find it helpful
