Hi, I took a heart attack 3 weeks ago yesterday, emergency surgery for 4 stents and home 3 days later. Still very lethargic and experiencing intermittent angina attacks, mild pain and extreme tiredness, requiring the GTN spray averaging 4 times a day. Can anyone advise if this is normal? Took the attack whilst out running and am fit and healthy, this tiredness is all new to me. Any advice very welcome, thanks

4 stents 3 weeks ago and still angina attacks
Hi I was still getting angina after having a stent fitted in may, I had a provocative angiogram done in august and have been diagnosed with mircovascular angina, mention it to your cardiologist good luck ❤❤
Hello, welcome and sorry to hear about your heart attack. This community aims to help each other but we are not doctors so please do always talk to the medical team looking after you.Tiredness afterwards is not unusual and some of the drugs you will be on to protect your heart might make you feel more so, they will slow your heartbeat to protect it.
The angina pain and the use of gtn that often does sound unusual and I would contact your cardiac team. Some people also report some discomfort from stents.
You should have been referred for cardiac rehab within 14 days of coming out of hospital, there are people who can help, alternatively contact the BHF nurses who can also help.
You must talk to your cardiologist and get a meds review. Tiredness in early days is common but the angina must be addressed.
As previously said some of the drugs may be making you feel tired but also your body has been through a very traumatic experience and needs time to heal not just physically but mentally as well. I personally believe that you should not be out running sounds far too soon after the HA and stents. After my HA, I had Cardiac rehab that built me up slowly. I know you probably want to run, 1( because you enjoy it and 2) you may need to prove to yourself that all is OK. Also after having stents it is not unusual to experience pains similar you those you had before and they will start to slowly subside. All that I say comes from experience. Please be kind to yourself and let your body and mind heal, its not always a quick process but it will happen but you must contact your Cardiac Rehab Nurse, Cardiologist or GP if you have problems or are worried about anything. Good luck with your recovery.
