Colonoscopy and endoscopy.

Today I had both my colonoscopy and endoscopy, and I must say that having them was a lot less harrowing than I thought it would be. My appointment I was 8.30 am and I was home by 11 o’clock. I think everything went ok, they removed a 3cm polyp just in side my rectum, they took biopsy’s but the said all looked well. They were doing the endoscopy because I am anemic. I was extra worried because a few ago I had a CRT-P fitted, which is a pacemaker with three leads instead of the normal 2. But they knew all about it and everything went well. I must say the staff were all wonderful. They took lots of photos and biopsy’s just have to wait now, but so glad it’s over for now at least

Hello :-)

You did really well having both done I am not sure I could :-)

I believe though the prep before the colonoscopy can be worst for some

Sounds like they did nor find anything but I know you have to wait for the results and I hope everything comes back ok and you will let us know :-) x

Isn't it common to have both done? I don't mind, as long as they do the top end first. 😜

Hello :-)

Yes they do both a lot was just thinking though when reading the ost how brave people are to have both done at the same time , I know I could never be that brave :-) x

Don't they give you sedation? I've always been put right out. I'd actually rather have both done at the same time than take two lots of prep. I really hate that prep. 🤗

Hello :-)

I think you can have sedation , I know they would have to give it me :-)

Yes I have heard the prep is the worst bit of the procedure :-) x

Good to hear it all went well 👍

For many having a colonoscopy it's the clearing out of your lower digestive system that is the worst part. In my case made doubly worse on one occasion when I got the dates mixed up and only found out after I taken all the preparations so had to repeat the whole thing several days later. Doh!

Oh no! That's the worst part.

👍

Dear you,

My goodness you have had a time of it haven't you, having had both procedures done, unpleasant yes but the information they can get is very valuable to your ongoing treatment.

Time to just relax

Take care

I had that wonderful combo a month ago. Was no problem except for the colonoscopy prep.😛

Glad you found it OK. I always find the prep the hardest part. For the actual procedure you don't know anything about it until you wake up and it's all done.

One of each on the same day, respect.Had them both and I had some issues with the endo, important hint to anyone getting one avoid classic science fiction.

I had a couple of lovely dreams were I was John hurt as a result. At least I didn't think that I was Ripley gender issues are not something I want even in my nightmares.

The anemia part is what has caught my attention, talking to the rather attractive nurse who was keeping a eye on me in the recovery room, she said that seeing hart op recipient's for anemia was a regular occurrence.

I was also told no worries all clear but if given the choice of procedure I would choose the colonoscopy, I don't like the décor on bord the Nostromo.

I had both one after the other, endoscopy first then wheeled in for the colonoscopy. As others have said the prep for the colonoscopy was for me the worse part. I was in hospital so just wheeled back to the ward after.

Take good care Pauline
