what can you do to improve the health of your heart
healthy heart: what can you do to... - British Heart Fou...
healthy heart
Dear Lumps
It really is a loaded question as it depends on how and what sort of damage your heart has had.
What is good for one person can be very detrimental to someone else.
But the golden rules still seem to be, don't smoke, drink in moderation cut down on some fats and refined sugars, lose weight etc
But before venturing onto anything ask you heart team/ cardiologist /Dr for the help readily available .
My list of what I now can't do is so long that if I really thought about it I could sit in a corner and cry, but instead I run and eat even better than I did before,
Is it helping my heart? I really have no idea or care because it has done wonders for my mental health, which personally I think is far more important.
Take care
i agree your mental health needs to be controlled. As this can cause more issues on your body. How to improve heart health is quite complexed. But as the heart is a muscle then moderate exercise to help it pump. Yes no smoking and not too much alcohol. With my issue I need to drink 1.5 litres a day ( not vodka) . Loose weight so the body does not have to carry extra weight around. Eat healthy and in moderation. It is quite a complexed situation. Lower your blood pressure to stop problems in the heart. But like you said your list of things you carnt do would make you sit in the corner and cry and do nothing. So you have to put faith in what you are doing. Put faith in the experts and carry on and enjoy what you have. That's what I have keep telling myself.
