ICD NOISE
HelloDo you have one of those ‘remote readers’ by your bed? You could call the clinic and ask them to check if everything was ok with your device in the night maybe? I’m new to this (only had my icd 3 months so still unsure and anxious) so sorry if my reply isn’t much use. 🙃
Have you checked the ICD manufacturers website? An ICD will make a noise as a warning but there are different noises for different reasons, such as battery running low, the website usually tells you what the warning is. if you have a Medtronic ICD their website has audio so it's really easy. Another reason could be the home monitor doing a download but the noise would come from the monitor not the ICD.
Hi, ICD"s usually have an audible alarm which you can hear if the battery is getting low. It is usually a bleeping sound which you only notice when everything is quiet. It could be this. My husband has had this happen a few times. You should contact your hospital and they can check. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your reply.
The bedside reader machine I have occasionally makes a very piercing beep if it can't connect to the mobile phone system or if it has an issue. The problem being that it tries to do these things at 02:00 in the morning and wakes my wife and I up. Its very irritating and after the 2-3rd time we decided to unplug it at night and only plug it in when there is a specific event to upload. I know this isn't how it's supposed to work, but it was this or have my wife move into the spare room.
