My husband has had heart failure r just over a year now.
After 22 years in same job he started to struggle .He left this job due to stress. He's also on depression medication and struggling to remember instructions more.
He is currently applying for new jobs but finding it a mindfield. He applied for job seekers allowance.
Does anyone know if he's entitled to any other benefits?
Thank you

Your best bet is to contact the citizens advice and they will tell you everything you need to know, they will even help to fill in any forms you get..
Hi, I agree, go to Citizens Advice, they help you complete all the appropriate forms and tell you what you are entitled to claim. Your husband has paid his taxes for all those years, now is the time he needs help.Sending you a big hug as well, I do know how difficult it is to cope with a husband with serious health problems💐
Dear 123ES
So sorry to hear that your husband { and you } are suffering so,
Please don’t be frightened of the government benefit site as it has a wealth of information and even at the job centre { or whatever they call themselves now } that he is claiming job seekers allowance from.
There are add ons to that benefit especially if he is under the dr for any form of illness, mental or physical.
Its one place that Google can help you, along with the citizen advice, but a lot will depend on what stage he is at with his Dr over his stress and depression.
I really hope that you get the help that you both need, its a worrying time for you both as it is without adding a financial burden to it.
Hey I have dilated cardiomyopathy. I have been on universal credit ever since my diagnosis. I had a health and disability assessment with them, done over the phone but prior to that I had to send in all hospital/doctors letters about my condition. I have now been awarded extra money due to limited work capability and work related activities. Basically saying I am unable to work. There is lots of information on government website, your local CAB or job centre should be able to help too x
Join the website Benefits and work. There's a small charge but it's so well worth it. It had advice on filling in all the forms , for mental health as well as physical health. CAB will help start you off but that website is invaluable for doing the forms. Do not be surprised if he's turned down at first- that usually happens. Just appeal.
